Industry Standard " Filter Material For Air Filter Media" Standard Preparation Start

On September 9, 2010, the establishment of the Industry Standard " Filter Media for Air Filters " and the first working meeting were held at China Academy of Building Research. The preparation of this standard has received extensive attention in the field of air filtration products. The team members include construction authorities, scientific research institutions, testing organizations, filter production companies, and air filter manufacturers with filter cloth material.

The preparation meeting was chaired by Secretary - General Huang Wei of the National Heating Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Purification Equipment Standardization Technical Committee. Zhang Hongyan, Senior Manager of Standards and Quota of the Ministry of Housing and Urban - Rural Development, first introduced the basic requirements and significance of standard setting. She stressed that all indicators in the product standards should be unified and play a role in regulating production and leading the development of the industry. The vice president of the China Institute of Building Research, Central Environmental Protection Institute, Zou Yu reads out the list of members of the standard development team on behalf of the chief editor.

Wang Zhichao, Director of Environmental Monitoring and Optimization Research Center, China Academy of Building Research, briefed the compiling team on the background of standards development. He pointed out that with the wide application of air filtration products, its importance has been paid more and more attention by people. At present, the country does not have a complete air filter standard, resulting in a low market access standard and a large number of poor quality filter materials entering. In the market, this not only caused confusion in the filter material market, but also seriously affected the quality of air filtration and ventilation and dust removal equipment and restricted the development of the industry. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an air filter material standard to evaluate the quality of air filter materials. 

At the preparation meeting, the focus of everyone's attention was on three aspects: First, how to classify filter media; second, how to determine the scope of filter media; and third, how to determine the product. Some delegates pointed out that the materials currently used in air filter media can no longer meet the needs of the rapidly growing market. The application fields of air purification equipment are constantly changing, from the traditional industrial and hospital purification systems to other health and hygiene areas, and the air filtration. The use of products is also becoming more and more extensive and the requirements are getting higher and higher. It is not possible to consider only the filtration of particulate matter, but also to consider the purification of other pollutants such as formaldehyde and microbial TVOC. In addition, the types of filter media are also varied, and there are significant differences in application areas. How to embody such standards in the preparation of the standards is of concern to everyone. The editor - in - chief unit detailed the opinions of all parties. The standard is scheduled to be completed in June 2012.

It is understood that air filter material ( hereinafter referred to as air filter ) is the core material of air filtration and ventilation dust removal equipment, and determines the quality of air filters and ventilation dust removal equipment.

The three standards of " air filter ", " high - efficiency air filter " and "efficiency and resistance of the experimental method for the performance of high - efficiency air filters " were officially revised after June 1, 2009. The preparation of the “ air filter media ” standard further improved the standard system of air filter products.
